One more thing we are not going to sing jalur gemilang anymore, instead we are gonna sing Gemilang which we will be teaching this friday, so you all must come!!!

We will most likely be having holiday practices though, but only for those on the School Choir Team for MSSD this April. =) (Which reminds me, we haven't decided who will be on the SCT yet. -.-)

To all the afternoon session peoples! Choir practices for the afternoon session will start in April, we're going according to the Takwim that was given out in January~ (i doubt most of you kept it)

Pn. Yee's farewell will be after recess this Saturday. Remember that it's a schooling day so please do come! All morning session choir members are included, even the new members! You get kokurikulum marks for this, so do take it serious.

Attire:
Girls - White baju kurung top, black choir skirt/blue baju kurung (Choir Committee will inform who to wear what), ~~black choir pumps~~ BLACK SCHOOL SHOES
Boys - White long sleeve shirt, black pants/slacks, black shoes

You may wear your choir outfit for the whole Saturday. For new members who can't find whatever article of clothing, or have any inquiries, please approach the board of directors.

This post is a bit late, but what matters is it came, right?

To all choir members,

THANKS FOR THE GREAT SHOW!!! WE WERE OWHSM!!! SMK USJ 13 CHOIR ROCKS!

It's our last production of the year, and also the biggest, colourful-est and best one yet! All our hard work has paid off and it really shows! Evidently, the new uniform and the baju melayu, which according to Anthea looked smexy on the guys, brought some positive results too. We had good feedback, even if some people were busy eating and chatting away while we sang so melodiously. *cough cough* I'm so proud of us! *sniff*

I didn't take much pictures, so here's just a few of them. I took a few videos too, but only our Negaraku video is up on the net, due to confidential reasons. 8D

To all those who did take any pictures or videos with our choir, please put them into a thumbdrive and pass it to Anthea to be entered to our choir archives.

This is the last performance of the year, so there will be no further practices this year. Thank you all again for making this year a blast! Remember to promote choir to all your friends as starting next year, choir will be an official club, and will be accepting all form 1-5(as stated before)!

To all form 3, good luck in your PMR! To all form 5, good luck in your SPM! To everyone else, good luck in your end year exams! Good luck all!

As choir activities for the year 2009 is coming to and end, I bet all of you guys are looking forward to Choir 2010! =D

There will be some major improvements next year! To name a few:

*Choir will be officially recognized!*
- This means that you all will register yourself in "Persatuan Koir" during the "Pendaftaran Kokurikulum"! like officially babeh. woot.

*Choir will be open to all forms!*
- Yes that means Choir is open to everyone and anyone from Form 1 all the way to Form 5! So make sure you get your sisters, brothers, cousins etc. to join! >D

But of course, some things will be maintained:

*Choir practices will still be held on Monday - 1.45pm to 3.30pm*
- So please leave that time slot free if you are planning to join Choir next year!

I know you all are sad that theres no more choir practices, BUT remember we still have our ANNUAL PARTAY! 8D Details are not out yet, but we will keep you updated as soon as we have confirmed the details!

We will be performing this Saturday (15/08/2009) in school for Hari Kemerdekaan celebration!

This is our chance to prove to our school that we are ossshhhhmmm ~~and shut the mouths of those people who make fun of us, especially our macho tenor and basses~~! >D

So, for those who didn't come for today's practice, you all will only sing one song - Malaysiaku Tercinta. aww you poor souls.

But for the awesome people who came today, we will sing TWO songs! We learnt a whole song in an hour. ~~yes i know we rock~~.

its okay, its alright, come on choir sing sing sing!

Yoh dudeys! Hope you guys are feeling great right now! well, even though we didn't win, we still gained experience and i think we were a threat to the other contestants (in a good way). =D

Honestly speaking, it was quite good. Do remember that we are probably the newest choir in that competition and we have improved a lot since last year! remember the ~~last minute~~ Sejahtera Malaysia?

The most important thing is that we have done our best, okay?

Even so, some constructive critique (and hopefully you guys can try to correct it):

1. We are not smiley enough!

There was one similarity in all the winning choirs - they all smiled! and when you smile, there is what I like to call "Stage Charisma", it's like your wu(3) tai(2) mei(4) li(4). (note: its in chinese) Okies? I managed to get my hands on all the performances, and well, our choir frankly looks quite ~~zombie~~ un-smiley. XD And remember to move your head also!

2. The volume

It was a bit soft, and considering the other choirs had around the same amount of people and could sing louder than us, i guess that leaves us with no excuse? @.@ So yes! Open your mouth! and remember to take in lots of air!

Done with the critique and comments, now moving on to what we did right:

1. Our stage thingy-magingy

We were different in a sense that our bow was well coordinated and we actually took the time to arrange our going-up-and-down-the-stage procedure! I was told by one of the spectators, "Your choir looks the smartest among the others." So yeah! We rock in that aspect! 8D

2. The overall tone

I know some of you all cracked and all, probably cause you guys were ~~very~~ a bit nervous, but it sounded quite good! =D Apart from the volume larh. But still it sounded nice.

3. Following the conductor

Yeah I was so happy about this weerh. =)

Long post long post its going to end soon i promise! XD

And also our choir lacks experience! So, I will try to get you guys to perform as often as possible! Bohahaha.

Speaking of which, we will be performing for Hari Kemerdekaan this Saturday! (15/08/2009) We will be singing Malaysiaku Tercinta and a snippet of the song we are learning now, ogies?

im sure everyone is hyped up about the competition this Thursday, and now that our beloved school has given us permission to practice during schooling hours, the practice time tomorrow has been changed to:

Anyway, please come for practices for these two weeks. We've got to be extra hardworking from now on till the day of competition comes! Because during the school holidays, there was only a handful of members who took the initiative to go for the practices for three days.

I was quite dissapointed because we really need you but you didn't go! :( Plus, we learnt a new song, the patriotc song. Yeah, we have to sing TWO songs, an english song and a patriotic song for the competition and the competition is on the April 2nd! Those who didn't go for practices, are you feeling scared now? some of you don't even know how does it sounds like do you? I'm also scared for us lah okay! So please don't make me feel so stressed! Please TRY to go for as many practices as you can for these two weeks okay? Tolonglah ya? Even if you have to go back earlier for the practices also it's okay, better than nothing. But only if you HAVE to and not because you WANT to. Okay? 8D

hey everyone! its the year 2009, and guess what?

SMK USJ 13 CHOIR IS IN IT'S 2nd YEAR!

*cough*okay the truth is i don't remember we officially formed the choir team*cough*

i am very sure this year will bring us much joy, fun and experience as we venture into teh big choir world out there. (which is teh cooleh. >D) as usual, the ever-efficient SMK USJ 13 choir committee has already arranged some veery interesting things for all the choir members to participate this year! whoopeee.

heres a little sneak-peak of what we'll be doing:

we'll sing "You Raise Me Up", buy a new keyboard, get new members have a fund raising to get money...

and much MUCH MORE!

and of course, we will try our best to participate in as many competitions as possible *cough*to get extra co-curriculum points*cough* umm, i meant to get more experience. heheeee. XD

and also!

for those who have been longing to join choir, thank your lucky stars! >D because we will be having our ANNUAL AUDITIONS veery veeeeeeeery soooon! how soon we cannot tell. but it will be happening. soooon. XD

but we do have the criteria for those who are interested! 8D

1. you can sing! *points* hey, don't say you can't! i remember seeing you sing our school song! haha yeah maybe on when i was like, form 1. =.=

2. a willing heart to learn more! in choir its all about teamwork. got it? t-e-a-m-w-o-r-k!

3. form 3, 4 or 5 only. we are really sorry for those form 1s and form 2s who want to join, but our practices are during the afternoons, so... T__T we would love to have you guys when you're in form 3/4/5! >D

i know this may sound cliche, but a lot of effort and hard work has been put just to form our very own SMK USJ 13 Choir. it was really, quite tough, planning, and making everything work. our whole committee has worked undeniably hard (great job guys! *hi-5*) just to make everything work.

Hey people! It's Shu Hui here for another blogpost. I'm here to tell you guys about an upcoming choir performance by my brother and the Young KL Singers.

The Young KL Singers proudly present, 'Breakin' It Down' - an upbeat and funky choral jazz performance featuring specially arranged works of Duke Elington, The Beatles, Billie Holiday and more.

Catch the Young KL Singers in their element as they groove with their unique blend of voices and instruments to all time favourites like, 'Summertime', 'Fly Me To The Moon' and 'Yesterday'.

My brother is inviting us to go watch this choir jazz concert. It will be a good exposure for us as a growing choir group. If the performances at the Subang Parade Patriotic Choir Competition opened your eyes, this concert will open your eyes further. It will be a choir full of energy and movement, accompanied by a jazz band led by Tay Cher Siang of GruvAvenue (he holds a Masters in Jazz Pedagogy!) On top of that, all of their pieces are choreographed by Michael Voon, the same guy who choreographed for So You Think You Can Dance (Malaysia), Malaysian Idol, and One In A Million.

This is not compulsory, but highly recommended and advisable. It'll be a great motivator to strive better in a choir. Because my brother loves our choir so much, he will be subsidizing for the tickets for whoever is going. Go in a group and invite your friends! Especially those in the choir or interested to join the choir.

so, its been a while since this blog has been updated XD, so just thought that i will fill you guys in with some info on our choir activities.

but before i do that, did you notice that our blog has a new blogskin? *claps* yeah babeh! the image is by me, the photo was taken during our school perasmian (so don't bug me if you're not there), and the blog code was by debbie. its soo nice and classic. 8D

back to the point.

for those who are interested to join Choir for the year 2009, we will be having our annual auditions next year! 8D come join us for all the Choir fun! woohooooo. there is a criteria whatnot that you have to have though.

you must be:

- form 3 or form 4 or form 5 (next year/2009)
- willing to come for practices

easy enough right? >D

basically, me and Shu Hui will be judging that day. the specific date has not been confirmed yet, but we will make sure that everyone knows about it so keep your eyes peeled for us!

P/S> choir members (especially for the liberated post-PMR dudes who are not going to school) there will be a choir meeting sometime next next week, we will make an announcement here and in school so please come. it is teh important. >D

*form 5s you guys are exempted from that particular meeting. oh, im so nice. 8D

so, as you know, we went to Subang Parade today for the inter-school competition.

we won something!
